New Delhi, June 15 (IANS) Larry Alison, co-founder and chairman of Oracle Corporation, has now become the second richest man in the world, leaving behind Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta and Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.

On June 13, after Oracle reported a strong income from expectation, the company’s share price was seen to be a strong jump of 7 percent, causing Alison’s assets to reach close to $ 259 billion.

According to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaire Index, Alison’s total assets increased to $ 258.8 billion, making him second in the world’s rich list. At the same time, Musk remains the world’s richest person with a total assets of $ 410.8 billion.

Alison was fourth in the Forbes’ Annual Billionaire Index released in April 2025 with a total assets of $ 192 billion.

His assets have increased by $ 66.8 billion in the last two months due to Oracle’s stock accelerated.

Oracle has recently played an important role in the US government’s effort for AI development under the project Stargate of President Donald Trump along with OpenAI and SoftBank.

Alison has been vocal about Oracle’s AI Vision, even suggested that AI will bring a new era of monitoring, where technology will help improve public behavior through continuous recording and reporting.

At the age of 80, Alison still serves as the chairman of Oracle and Chief Technology Officer. He founded the company in 1977 and served as its CEO till 2014.

Under his leadership, Oracle has achieved success through several major acquisitions, including the acquisition of Health Technology Company Serner in $ 28.3 billion in 2021.
