Maharashtra: Aurangabad Industrial City will establish skill development center in 20,000 square feet

महाराष्ट्र: औरंगाबाद इंडस्ट्रियल सिटी में 20,000 वर्ग फुट में कौशल विकास केंद्र की होगी स्थापना

New Delhi, 13 July (IANS). A partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will be set up in Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) in 20,000 square feet, for which an MoU is expected to be signed next week. This information was given by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Sunday.

Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department of Industry and Internal Trade Promotion (DPIIT), supported the establishment of the Skill Development Center during a review of the progress of industrial infrastructure and startup development in the region during the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar visit on 12 July 2025.

The Secretary emphasized the need to attract the Global A capacity Center (GCC) investment and promote the development of research and development (R&D) centers in AURIC to attract the innovation and industrial ecosystem of the region.

The parties also recommended convergence of PMAY 2.0 subsidy with state housing policies to offer a comprehensive package for inclusive residential development, to support the development of industrial township in a better way.

In the statement issued by the ministry, it was further stated that an industry connectivity session was also held in the AURIC Hall under the chairmanship of the Secretary, which saw the participation of major parties including MASIA, CMIA, CII, FICCI and Assocham.

During the discussion, the parties made better connectivity between Aurangabad-Hyderabad-Chennai, development of MRO facility and better logistics access to Vande Bharat Terminal, Bidkin, to increase the land reservation for MSME from 10 percent to 40 percent in the recommendations between Jalna and Valuj, to increase the land reservation for MSME from 10 percent to 40 percent, 10 percent land reserve for start-ups and (AURIC) (AURIC) to (AURIC) Strengthening infrastructure and skill development was also included.

Dr. P. Anabalagan, Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, also presented a strategic view of the state for industrial development through initiatives like MITL and MMLP.

DPIIT Secretary Bhatia said that cooperation between the government and the industry is necessary to establish Maharashtra as a global center of manufacturing and innovation. This session saw active participation of industry associations and Maharashtra government, which further strengthened their shared commitment to speed up industrial development in the region.
