Meta removed 23,000 Facebook pages and accounts included in Investment Fraud, check details

Veteran social media company Mata said on Wednesday that in March 2025, more than 23,000 Facebook pages and accounts included in the fraud were removed, which were used to target users of Brazil and India. Meta, a company operating social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, said that the scamsters tried to fraud with people using technology like Deepfec in Brazil and India. According to Meta, these fraudulent personal finance content creators, cricket players and business personalities were incorrectly presenting with the help of technology and supporting the fraud’s investment app and gambling website.

Efforts are being made to increase awareness

According to Meta, fake people used to send messaging apps for ‘investment advice’ and sometimes took to a fake website. “In March, we removed more than 23,000 Facebook pages and accounts involved in many activities of fraud, which were mainly targeted to the people of Brazil and India.” Meta has made suggestions to identify people related to online investment and payments and to protect themselves.

Most of the meta platforms are used in India

Let us tell you that the most users of American social media company Mata are in India, whose number is several crores. Apart from Facebook, Instagram, different platforms of Meta also include WhatsApp and these three platforms are used in India on a large scale. The number of Facebook users in India is more than 375 million. Apart from this, India has the highest number of users of Instagram and WhatsApp.
