More than 1.15 crore complaints of public were redressed between 2019 and 2025: Center

New Delhi, 9 July (IANS). The central government said on Wednesday that more than 1.15 crore complaints of the public have been redressed between 2019 and 2025, which reflects the trust being shown by the citizens on the government.

Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievance and Pension, while addressing the National Workshop on “Effective redressal of public grievances, Nextgen CPGRAMS and Progress Review”, spoke about the progress of India’s grievance redressal process.

The Union Minister of State said that in 2014, about two lakh complaints were filed every year, which has now increased to 26 lakhs, it shows that citizens are re -connecting the government.

He further said, “Today more than 26 lakh complaints are lodged every year. It shows the change in the accountability of public trust and system.”

He credited this change to the government promoting civil-centered digital rule under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Union Minister of State described the Grievance Redressal as an integral part of the Prime Minister’s “maximum governance, minimum government” approach and emphasized that accountability, transparency and timely response are the key to citizens to make “life easy”.

In this workshop, V. Srinivas, Secretary, Administrative Reforms and Public Grievance Department (DARPG) said that the government has made great progress in adopting technology and procedural reforms through CPGRAMS 7.0.

“The time for grievance redress has now come down to 15 days and the level of civil satisfaction has reached 62 percent. Between 2019 and 2025, more than 1.15 crore complaints have been redressed.”

The CPGRAMS platform, which is now associated with all central ministries, state governments and 23 administrative training institutes, has also received international recognition from the Commonwealth Secretariat and IBM Center for Excellence.
