Bengaluru, September 29 (IANS). The current edition of the Big Fashion Festival has got off to a great start. With 12 crore visitors combined in early access and day one, Myntra witnessed tremendous shopping intensity from customers across core fashion and emerging categories.
The much-awaited shopping festival kicked off with 15 times the number of new users joining the Myntra platform compared to normal days, and the opening hour of the event saw almost two times growth in OPM (orders per minute) as compared to last year.
In the first hour of the event, which started at midnight, customers bought 700 T-shirts, 420 jeans, 330 pairs of shoes and 100 lipsticks per minute, indicating the high intensity that has continued since then.
Apart from significant demand for core fashion categories, categories like beauty & personal care and sports footwear witnessed demand growth of over 50 per cent. Home and wearables have registered a growth of more than 100 percent so far compared to the same period last year.
Myntra’s Gen-Z fashion platform FWD saw almost 2.6 times more demand than usual. Customers from both metro and non-metro categories enthusiastically joined the platform.
Neha Wali, Head of Revenue, Myntra, said, “We have been seeing a tremendous response across core fashion and emerging categories since the pre-buzz period and the momentum continues. Reflecting the excitement for the much-awaited festive shopping extravaganza in the lifestyle space, Big Fashion The festival saw a four times increase in orders on the first day of the event compared to normal days as well as a 5.5 times increase in shopping from Insiders (Myntra’s loyalty program) during the first two hours of early access. We are seeing significant demand from both metro and non-metro, with about 45 per cent of orders coming from Tier 2 and 3 cities and even remote areas.”
Unlocking maximum value in fashion and beauty shopping, Myntra saw eight times growth in transactions by customers using Myntra Kotak co-branded cards on the first day compared to normal days.
