New Delhi. The central government is going to launch a new scheme to promote digital transactions. Now those taking payment from UPI will get incentive. Under this UPI incentive scheme of the government, incentive amount will be provided for UPI payment up to Rs 2,000, this will benefit small traders. Incentives will be given at the rate of 0.15 percent on every transaction up to Rs 2000. This big decision was taken today in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The incentive scheme will be implemented with an estimated outlay of Rs 1,500 crore from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 to promote low-price Bhima-UPI transactions. The aim of the government is that there should be facility to pay UPI in small shops from small cities, towns to rural areas so that a new record can be made along with promoting digital transactions. Through this incentive scheme, small shopkeepers who still do not accept online payment will be encouraged to take money through UPI.
Other cabinet decisions
– The Central Government has approved the implementation of the revised National Gokul Mission. Through this, focus will be on the artificial insemination of animals and improving milk production through IVF. This will benefit the cattle rearers associated with the milk business and increase their income.
-The construction of a six-lane national highway has also been approved to connect the JNPA port in Maharashtra with the Chowk. The construction of this National Highway, 29.21 km long, will cost a total cost of Rs 4,500.62 crore.
-In the cabinet meeting, a new brownfield ammonia-yaarya complex fertilizer plant has also been approved at the Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) located in Assam.
