New Delhi, 1 July (IANS). NASSCOM on Tuesday announced the formation of its new Talent Council to strengthen India’s position as Global Technology Talent Hub. It is a strategic industry-leading initiative, prepared for the future, dedicated to the manufacture of competitive digital workforce globally.
The top body of the IT industry also appointed Satish HC, Chief Distribution Officer of Infosys as the Chairman of the NASSCOM Talent Council.
NAScom said in a statement that he would lead the council efforts to shape globally, with more than three decades of experience in global talent strategy, innovation and digital transformation.
This initiative is part of NASCOM’s continuous commitment to promote innovation, to promote innovation, carry forward digital changes and enabling inclusive growth by building a strong and globally competitive workforce.
NAScom Talent Council President Satish HC said, “India is in a strong position to lead the world in the era of AI and emerging technology. This step is much more than skill development; it is about a change in ‘expert talent’ from talented-rich, which uses the power of technology through applications and uses the power of technology and in our society.”
India’s digital economy is growing rapidly, by 2026, an estimated requirement of about 30 million digital efficient professionals, while 50 percent of the existing workforce will require skill again in emerging technology.
With more than 5.4 million technical talent base, India is in good position to lead in high-influence domains such as AI, Dippec, semiconductor and cyber security.
Council will introduce new models for talent mobility and retention. It will also carry forward the regional employment programs.
