The Union Ministry of Labor and Employment on Monday launched e-Shram One Stop Solution. On this occasion, Union Labor Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that now 30 crore workers of the unorganized sector registered on the e-Shram portal will be able to avail the benefits of various social security schemes run by the government without any hindrance.

The Minister informed that the primary objective of e-Shram One Stop Solution is to simplify the registration process for unorganized workers and facilitate their access to government welfare schemes. It will work as a bridge, which will connect the workers with the schemes and their benefits offered by the government. This will also make the registration process easier and more transparent. Through the portal, he will be able to know which schemes are available for him and how he can avail the benefits.

On this occasion, Labor Department Secretary Shobha Karandlaje said that our primary objective is to connect every worker with the portal. We are focusing on integration of state government portal with e-Shram. Our effort is to register the unorganized sector workers left state and district wise, so that they can avail the benefits of the scheme run by the Central Government.

60-90 thousand workers are getting registered every day

The e-Shram portal was launched on 26 August 2021, so that workers working in the unorganized sector can be registered on the portal. Today, every day 60 to 90 thousand employees are joining the e-Shram platform. The number of workers joining so far has reached more than three crore.

These schemes were added to the portal

– One Nation One Ration Card

– Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act

– National Social Assistance Program

– National Career Service

– Prime Minister Shram Yogi Maandhan and other schemes.

E-commerce companies will also be added

Work is going on rapidly to expand the scope of the portal in future. The ministry is working on this. The government is trying to register companies and their employees providing services through apps and online platforms on the e-Shram portal.

Drivers and delivery boys of Ola, Uber, Zomato or Swiggy will also be registered on the portal.

Sources associated with the ministry say that soon the portal will be opened for e-commerce companies. With this, drivers and delivery boys providing services through companies like Ola, Uber, Zomato or Swiggy will also be registered on the portal. Employees providing services through e-commerce companies are also demanding that there should be a health and social security scheme for them. Therefore, the ministry is working on registering them through the labor portal.
