New Delhi, 3 June (IANS). Giving information on Tuesday, NITI Aayog said that a one -day regional workshop was organized under the State Support Mission (SSM) in Dehradun to promote structured engagement with the states.
This workshop was organized by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the State Institute for Empowering and Transfering Uttarakhand (Setu) Commission, Government of Uttarakhand.
An official statement from the NITI Aayog said, “This is the first workshop in the series to promote structured engagement between NITI Aayog and states/union territories through the State Institution for Transformation (SIT) under the Central Sector Scheme.
The purpose of this workshop is to bring states and union territories on one platform together to share their experiences on SSM initiatives and learn from each other.
In the inaugural session, Dr. V.K., a member of NITI Aayog. Saraswat, Deputy Chairman of Sarasu Commission Raj Shekhar Joshi, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, Shatrughan Singh, CEO of Setu Commission and senior officials of NITI Aayog participated.
He emphasized the important role of state institutions to change the development of states and to change the state’s approach.
Senior officials from Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Uttarakhand also participated in the discussion.
Platforms such as NITI for State Portal and NITI Aayog developed platforms such as India Strategy Room were highlighted to take evidence-based decisions in the session on data-driving governance.
In this regional workshop, important priorities such as climate mitigation, monitoring and evolution, state vision formulation, capacity building were discussed. Also, states and union territories were provided a platform to share important insights and promote cooperation to consider SIT implementation.
