Inflation reached 1.5 percent
Vegetable prices have increased to 63.04 percent in October compared to 48.7 percent in September. Similarly, inflation of manufactured products has reached 1.5 percent in October, whereas it was 1 percent in September. However, fuel and electricity prices fell by more than 5 percent in October compared to the previous month.
According to earlier released data, retail inflation increased to a 14-month high of 6.2 percent in October, which was 5.5 percent in September.
Due to increasing inflation, signs of recession are beginning to appear in the economy. RBI has estimated the retail inflation rate to be 4.5 percent for the current financial year 2024-25. The Reserve Bank Governor had said that inflation rate is coming down, but the process is slow and uneven.
