National Stock Exchange (NSE) Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ashish Kumar Chauhan has been honored as the Most Influential CEO-2024 – South Asia (National Financial Trading). Ashish Kumar Chauhan has been given this honor by CEO Monthly-AI Global Media for his visionary leadership and dedication to work excellence. Earlier, Ashish Kumar Chauhan has been honored with many awards including Diamond Sabre Awards 2015, Hong Kong, Indian Business Leader of the Year, CEO of the Year.
Ashish Kumar Chauhan took charge as MD and CEO of National Stock Exchange (NSE) in July 2022. Chauhan is also among the founders of NSE. He has also served in NSE from 1992 to 2000. Ashish Kumar Chauhan started his career with Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) in the year 1991. He has played an important role in setting up the automated screen-based trading system at NSE. Chauhan is credited with creating frameworks including NSE certificates, Nifty index. In June 2024, at the convocation of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) in Gujarat, Chauhan had said that India’s wealth would increase 10 times in the next five decades.
He has also worked as the President and Chief Information Officer of Reliance Group from the year 2000 to 2009. Not only this, Chauhan has also been the CEO of Mumbai Indians, the IPL cricket team owned by Reliance Industries. After this, Chauhan took charge as Deputy CEO in Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in 2009 and after this he was appointed CEO in the year 2012. Chauhan is also credited with reviving the BSE. At the same time, NSE has made trading very easy for investors across the country. NSE was the first exchange in India to have a fully automated screen-based electronic trading system.
