New Delhi, 3 February (IANS). 30.58 crore workers of the unorganized sector are registered on the e -ram portal run by the central government. They are benefiting from the public welfare schemes of the government. This information was given by the government in Parliament on Monday.
Minister of State for Labor and Employment Shobha Karandalaje said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that more than 1.23 crore workers have been registered on the e -ram portal by 2024 and an average of 33,700 registrations are being done daily.
The Ministry of Labor and Employment launched an e-program portal on August 26, 2021 to create a comprehensive national database of unorganized workers (NDIW).
The purpose of the e -ram portal is to register and support unorganized workers by providing universal account number (UAN) based on self-dealing.
Currently 12 schemes of various central ministries are integrated with the e -ram portal and which is now available in 22 Indian languages.
The E -ram portal has been integrated with the National Career Service (NCS) portal. An unorganized laborer can register on NCS using his universal account number (UAN) and discover appropriate job opportunities. A link has also been provided to the workers registered on the e -ram portal to register uninterrupted on NCS.
E-Shram has been integrated with the Prime Minister Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM), which is a pension scheme for unorganized workers between the age of 18-40 years. It provides a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 after attaining the age of 60 years. Any unorganized workers can easily enroll under PM-SYM using UAN. The Center contributes 50 percent under this scheme while the rest is contributed by the workers.
A provision has been added to the e-program to collect family details of migrant workers.
There is also a provision to share the data of construction workers with states and union territories in the e -ram, so that the concerned buildings and other construction workers (BODW) boards can get their registration facility.
E -ram is also integrated with the MyScim portal which is a national platform that aims to provide discovery and information of government schemes at one place. It provides a new, technology-based solution to find information about the plan based on the eligibility of the citizen.
