New Delhi, 9 April (IANS). Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday that external pressures will not panic among Indian citizens. Despite global uncertainties, our domestic economy remains strong.
Speaking at the ‘Rising Bharat Summit’ in Delhi, Amit Shah said that it is too early to determine the impact of Trump Tariff, but India’s economy is capable of facing such pressures.
The Home Minister said, “It is too early to determine its impact. India is not the only country facing tariffs. Many countries are facing tariffs. Maybe our goods may be exported to other countries as well.”
He further said that American tariff is a complex issue. It is not prudent to determine its effect in haste. Shah said that India’s economy is flexible and assured that such external pressure would not create panic among Indian citizens.
Earlier, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that India would talk with the US to get a discount from President Donald Trump’s 27 percent mutual tariff.
