Ameera Shah (English: Ameera Shah, born- 24 September 1979, Mumbai, Maharashtra) is an Indian entrepreneur who is the managing director of Metropolis Healthcare. She was honored as a Young Global Leader of 2015 by the World Economic Forum. Ameera Shah is the daughter of Dr. Sushil Shah, founder and chairman of Metropolis Healthcare.
Ameera Shah was named in Fortune India’s ‘Most Powerful Women in Business’ list in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Her company Metropolis Healthcare became the first private firm in India to test for COVID-19. This chain has 125 labs in major cities of the country, in which more than 4 thousand employees work. Ameera Shah is included in Forbes’ list of Asia’s 25 Power Businesswomen of 2020. Ameera Shah, who returned with a degree in finance from the University of Texas, started her career as a customer care executive in her father’s pathology lab in South Mumbai. Gradually she joined other reputed laboratories. Today the company has labs in six countries.
