The Income Tax Department is going to start a PAN 2.0 project of Rs 1,435 crore next year. IT company Ltimindtree has been selected for this. This company will take up the responsibility of design, developing, implementing and maintaining this project. These new systems will take all the work related to PAN (PAN) and Tan, such as new Pan Banana, Details updating, Aadhaar-Pain Linking, Refruiting PAN and online PAN verification, everything will make it easy. The aim is to make the processes related to PAN and Tan easier, the service is better and the complaints are resolved quickly. Pain 2.0 will have tremendous use of technology. Paper work will be over, making PAN, updating or correction will be free and e-PAN will be sent directly to registered email. This system will make every task fast, easy and transparent.
What is PAN 2.0?
On 25 November 2024, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved this Rs 1,435 crore project. Currently, PAN-related services are different on three different platforms, such as e-filing portal, Utiitsl portal and protein e-world portal. Everything in this new system will be digital. From making PAN card to change, all the work will be online and free. The e-pain will be sent directly to your email. This will save both time and hard work.
What should existing PAN holders do?
PAN is an alpha-numeric number of 10 digits. It gives income tax department to taxpayers. Similarly, tan is also a number of 10 digits, which are found to those who are responsible for deducting or depositing tax. Currently, there are more than 81.24 crore PAN holders and more than 73 lakh tan holders in the country. The good news is that the existing PAN holders do not need to build a new PAN under PAN 2.0. Your old pan will work. Just keep in mind that your PAN is link to Aadhaar and your details are updated. If some changes are made, the new portal will make it easier.
