The passport service working under the Ministry of External Affairs of India has issued an advisory in this regard. It states that the passport service portal will be closed for the next 5 days at 8 pm on Thursday, August 29.
Now when will the passport service portal open again
The advisory states that the portal is being closed due to technical maintenance of the portal and will open after 5 days i.e. on Monday, 2 September at 6 am. During this time, the passport service portal will be completely closed and no work of any kind will be done on it. It has been said on the ex-account of the passport service portal that during technical maintenance, apart from common citizens, it will be completely closed for MEA/RPO/BOI/ISP/DoP and police.
Appointments booked on August 30 will be rescheduled
According to the advisory of the passport service, all the appointments booked for Friday, 30 August will be cancelled. All the appointments of 30 August will be rescheduled for later and complete information regarding this will be shared on the registered mobile number of the applicants.
Regional passport offices will remain closed on August 30
Due to the closure of the passport service portal, all regional passport offices will also remain closed tomorrow i.e. Friday, August 30. If you have also applied for a new passport or have booked an appointment for August 30, then none of your work will be done and you will have to wait at least till Monday.
