The price of crude oil in the international market is the highest level since 2014. At the same time, there has been a big increase in the prices of petrol and diesel in almost all the countries of the world. Talking about India, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel since the last four months of November, while during this period the price of crude oil in the world has seen a jump of up to 68 percent. Petrol Price Calculation : The actual cost of petrol available in Delhi after refining crude oil is Rs 48.21 per liter. Further, the excise duty and road cess levied by the central government, which is around Rs 27.9, is added, after which a commission of 3.8 per liter is given to the petrol pump owners. Even the petrol of Rs 48.21 per liter has gone up to Rs 79.91 per liter after adding everything.
Finally, VAT of 19.4 per cent or Rs 15.5 (this varies from state to state) is levied by the Delhi government on petrol. After this, this petrol reaches the tank of your car and bike at the rate of 95.41 per liter.
Diesel Price Calculation: The actual cost of diesel available for sale in Delhi after refining crude oil is Rs 50.09. On this, excise duty and road cess of Rs 21.8 is levied by the central government. Then a commission of Rs 2.6 is given to the petrol pump owners. Even the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 74.49. After this, VAT of Rs 12.18 or 16.75 per cent (it varies state wise) is levied by the Delhi government on diesel, after which diesel becomes Rs 86.67.
Experts believe that due to the increase in the price of crude oil in the international market, the price of petrol and diesel in the country may increase by Rs 12-15.
