Petrol Diesel Price Today: Vehicle fuel prices were hiked for the 11th time in nearly two weeks on Sunday. With this, petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter in all major cities of the country. At the same time, diesel has also crossed the ‘century’ at some places. On Sunday, the price of both petrol and diesel has been increased by 80-80 paise per liter.

According to the price notification of petroleum companies, the price of petrol in the capital has now increased from Rs 102.61 per liter to Rs 103.41 per liter. At the same time, the price of diesel has increased from Rs 93.87 to Rs 94.67 per liter. Vehicle fuel prices vary due to local taxes across the country. This is the 11th increase in vehicle fuel prices since March 22. Earlier, for about four and a half months, vehicle fuel prices were not increased. Overall, petrol has become costlier by Rs 8 a liter during this period.
Petrol hits century in these cities
Petrol is now being sold at a rate of more than Rs 100 per liter in all major cities of the country from Srinagar to Kochi. While in Thiruvananthapuram (Rs 101.83 per liter), Hyderabad (Rs 103.3), Mumbai (Rs 102.62), Bhubaneswar (Rs 100.1), Raipur (Rs 100.74), Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have crossed diesel centuries. . Diesel in Chennai and Bhopal has exceeded Rs 99 per liter. In Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, diesel has reached the most expensive i.e. Rs 105.52 per liter. At the same time, the price of petrol is highest i.e. Rs 120.65 per liter in Sri Ganganagar of Rajasthan.
Petrol prices will increase further?
Moody’s Investors Services said last month that state-run petroleum companies lost $2.25 billion or Rs 19,000 crore in revenue due to non-change in vehicle fuel prices ahead of the assembly elections. According to Kotak Institutional Equities, petroleum companies will need to increase diesel prices by Rs 13.1 to 24.9 per liter and petrol by Rs 10.6 to 22.3 per liter if crude oil prices are between $100-120.
