Price of Petrol and Diesel will not increase: The central government on Monday clarified about the increase in retail prices of petrol and diesel. The government made it clear that despite the increase in effective excise duty rates from Monday, there will be no change in the retail prices of petrol and diesel.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas gave this information through a post on the social media platform X. Post wrote, PSU oil marketing companies have informed that there will be no increase in retail prices of petrol and diesel after the increase in excise rates today.
Announcement made amid public concern
This announcement has come amid concerns that were arising out of the possible increase in the prices of petroleum products in the general public and industry. Earlier, news of increase in excise duty on petrol and diesel was revealed. A notification was issued by the government that excise duty of Rs 2 per liter on petrol and diesel was increased. The increased price from Tuesday is going to be implemented.
Now 13 on petrol and Rs 10 per liter on diesel
According to the information, excise duty on petrol has been increased to Rs 13 per liter and diesel by Rs 10 per liter.
