Piyush Goyal invites Sweden, infrastructure of India and invest in manufacturing sector

Stockholm, 11 June (IANS). Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday that India-Sweden bilateral relations will gain further momentum due to increasing business participation.

Addressing the India-Sweden Business Leaders Roundable (ISBLRT) organized by Marcus Walnberg President of Walanberg Investment AB, the minister said that India-Sweden cooperation will continue to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development for a bright future.

The minister said in a post on the social media platform X, “Adopted by the leadership of India and Sweden in 2016, ISBLRT has since emerged as a platform to bring business leaders of the two countries together to promote cooperation in trade, innovation and investment.”

He said, “Today’s discussion was creative and visionary. The need to create a partnership based on shared innovation, technological progress and mutual prosperity was emphasized.”

Goyal held an important meeting with Sweden’s International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Minister Benjamin Dausa and State Secretary Hakan Jeverell.

He said that we discussed strengthening cooperation in areas like clean energy, digital technology, climate, healthcare and life science and skill development.

He invited Sweden to India’s growing infrastructure and more stake in manufacturing sectors. Goyal said that we are ready to open new chapters of cooperation.

Union Minister reached Stockholm for a three -day official visit to Sweden, before he completed a two -day successful journey to Switzerland.

Goyal wrote on the social media platform X, “I am eager to join Sweden’s leadership, business community and key stakeholders to discover new opportunities and strengthen their long -term relationships.”

He said that more than 280 Swedish companies in India and more than 80 Indian companies are working in Sweden, the possibilities of cooperation are immense.
