The demand for digital skills and talent has increased amid the pandemic. On the basis of strong performance, IT companies are preparing to recruit fiercely this year as well. Leading IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant and Capgemini have set new hiring targets. In total, these companies have announced to make more than three lakh new appointments this year.
TCS recruits double the target
The country’s largest IT company TCS has set a target to recruit 40 thousand graduates i.e. freshers in the current financial year. Last year too, TCS had set a target of about this number of recruitments, but the company made one lakh new recruitments against it. Experts say that TCS may recruit more than the target in the current financial year as well. TCS made more than 35,000 appointments in the quarter ended March 31, which is the highest level for any quarter so far.
Infosys is not far behind
Infosys, the second largest IT company in the country, is targeting to recruit 50,000 freshers this year. However, the company can hire more than this. Last year, Infosys made 85,000 new appointments, which is almost double the target. Leaving rate in Infosys is also high, due to which it has to recruit more. So there are more opportunities for freshers.
Wipro-HCL also announced
Wipro has set a target of 30,000 recruitments in the current financial year, which is almost double from last year. In the last financial year, Wipro had made 17,500 appointments. Similarly, HCL has increased its recruitment target to 45 thousand this year. Whereas last year he had done 22 thousand appointments.

Getting more opportunities from hybrid work
Experts say that in view of the Corona crisis, most companies have adopted office and work from home (hybrid work). This has increased the demand for IT professionals. He says thousands more jobs are expected this year from IT companies big and small as well as other companies in the fintech sector. In this also more recruitments can be seen than the target.
