New Delhi, 1 June (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda at his official residence. In this meeting, talks were held on an investment of $ 10 billion in India’s infrastructure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the post of the ADB president on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote, “There was a great meeting with Masato Kanda, in which we shared our views on many issues. India’s rapid change in the last decade has strengthened countless people and we are working to move further in this journey.”
Kanda wrote in his post on social media, “Developed India is the vision of 2047 adventure and ADB is supporting this ambitious goal. We will invest 10 billion dollars in the next five years, including the development of infrastructure of the Municipal Corporation, expansion of metro network, creating a new regional rapid transit system corridor and modernization of city services.
He further wrote in the post, “Bharat, the founding member of ADB, is our largest borrower and is a strong partner. By increasing the finance for the public and private sector, by deepening the knowledge cooperation, we are willing to support India’s campaign to become a developed nation by 2047 and provide inclusive, flexible and durable development for our 1.4 billion people.”
ADB has allegedly partnered with more than 110 cities in 22 states on projects related to water supply, sanitation, housing and solid waste management, including 27 loans worth $ 5.15 billion.
Earlier, the ADB president also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, where the two leaders discussed plans to bring prosperity in rural areas, increase roof top solar energy capacity and start UCF.
