New Delhi, January 16 (IANS). The country’s largest mobility expo ‘Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025’ will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi.
The expo will be held from January 17 to 22 across three different venues – Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in Delhi and India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida, featuring over nine shows, over 20 conferences.
Apart from this, state sessions will also be organized at the expo to showcase policies and initiatives in the mobility sector, thereby enhancing collaboration between the industry and states, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.
This year the event will have a special emphasis on global importance, with exhibitors and visitors participating from all over the world.
The expo is an industry-led and government-supported initiative being coordinated by the Indian Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) in collaboration with various industry bodies and partner organizations.
According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), wholesale sales of India’s automobile industry are expected to grow by 11.6 percent year-on-year to 25 million units in 2024.
With these figures, India was the third largest car market in the world last year.
The two-wheeler segment will lead the growth in 2024. Compared to 2023, there has been a growth of 14.5 percent in the two-wheeler segment last year and sales of 1.95 crore units.
Apart from this, the highest sales till date have been recorded in passenger vehicles and three-wheeler segments last year.
The passenger vehicles segment grew by 4.2 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year and sales stood at around 43 lakh units. Three-wheelers recorded a growth of 6.8 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year and sales stood at 7.3 lakh units.
