New Delhi, 15 February (IANS). India has become a reliable and sustainable sourcing destination for global textile companies. In this series, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the ‘Bharat Tex 2025’ global conference in the national capital on Sunday.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that Prime Minister Modi will participate in the program in Bharat Mandapam at around 4 pm and address the gathering.
The program, which is held from 14–17 February, brings the entire textile value chain – raw materials and accessories including finished products – under the same roof.
‘India Tax’ is the largest program in the platform textile industry, which includes a mega expo spread over two places and displays the entire textile ecosystem.
India is the sixth largest exporter of textiles and apparel and the country exported textile goods worth $ 34 billion in 2023. With which more than 45 million people have got direct employment.
It will also have a global level conference session with more than 70 conference sessions, roundateable, panel discussions and master classes.
The program will include exhibitions, Hacathan-based ‘Startup Pitch Fest’ and innovation fests and technology and design challenges providing funding opportunities for startups through major investors.
‘Bharat Tex 2025’ is expected to include policy makers and global CEOs, over 5,000 exhibitors and 6,000 international buyers from more than 120 countries, besides several other visitors.
According to Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, ‘India Tex 2025’ reflects flexible global value chains and textile sustainability.
This mega textile event includes a variety of activities, including global trade fair and expo, global level textile conferences, seminars, CEO roundateable and B2B as well as G2G meetings.
India Expo Center in Greater Noida and related exhibitions like accessories, garment machinery, dye, chemical and handicrafts are being organized in Mart till 15 February.
