Preparation for major changes in transactions through UPI: National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is preparing to make big changes in UPI to make payments more secure.
It is being told that apart from UPI PIN, finger and face recognition will also be used to verify payments.
Talks are going on with payment APPS companies to start this facility. There are many apps in the country including Google Pay, Phone Pay, Paytm and Amazon Pay that provide UPI payment facility. NPCI is considering adding Finger Print Sensor and Face ID for UPI payment.
He believes that the use of face ID or biometrics will make UPI transactions more secure. This can reduce cases of fraud. However, before starting this facility, its risks will also be checked at every level.
It is being told that if NPCI’s talks with these app companies are successful, then UPI payments will be made using the fingerprint sensor of Android phones. Whereas, people using iPhones will be able to make UPI payments through Face ID.
