Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Sunday that products made at the district level, especially handicrafts and agricultural products to attract investors, will be displayed in the Global Investor Conference (GIS). ‘Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investor Conference’ is being held on 24 and 25 February in Bhopal. The Chief Minister said, “Efforts will be made through ‘one district one product (ODOP) Expo Zone’ at the conference to make artisans and farmers self -sufficient.” He said that the state government is promoting the manufacture of local products through ODOP initiative.
Special stalls will be installed
Officials said special stalls will be set up for 38 ODOP products in the exhibition ‘live and process’ (live and procedure) counters. He said that the artisans will showcase the skills of making major products like garden print, zari zardozi, batik print, carpet, chanderi saris, bamboo crafts, sandstone items and fabric jackets at these counters. Officials said visitors and representatives would get a unique experience of making these products under the guidance of skilled artisans. He informed that the museum of mankind in the Human Museum will also have a major attraction for earthen utensils and metal crafts.
Production process will also be displayed
He informed that this exhibition would have 32 ODOP products related to food, spices and fruits and stalls displaying their production process. Visitors will be able to see, understand and buy these products. Additionally, traditional art and crafts of Madhya Pradesh will be performed at 16 live counters, where guests will be able to participate in the creative process. According to officials, the exhibition will open new business opportunities for artisans and data from visitors will be collected at each counter, which will provide networking opportunities for artisans. He said that the responsibility of data management has been entrusted to the students of prestigious colleges in Bhopal, which will give them practical experience.
