New Delhi, 27 April (IANS). RailTel Corporation of India Limited announced that it has received a big order of Rs 90.08 crore from the Institute of Road Transport.
The order includes the design, development, supply, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
The system will be applied to three transport corporations, including MTC Limited, Chennai, TNSTC-Coimbatore and TNSTC-Maderai.
In the information given to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), RailTel said, “It is informed that RailTel Corporation of India Limited has received a work order of Rs 90,08,49,783 (including tax) from the Institute of Road Transport.”
The company also clarified that the project has no connection with its promoters and it is not a related party transaction.
The project is expected to be completed by October 18, 2026. After an order of Rs 25.15 crore from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in March this year, it is another major domestic order for the railway sector government company.
In February too, the company had obtained a contract of Rs 288 crore to implement the armor anti-cholizan system at 71 stations.
Kavach is an advanced automatic train protection system that helps prevent train accident. If the train crosses the red signal or there is a risk of collision, the system automatically applies brakes.
On Friday, RailTel’s shares on BSE closed down nearly 5 per cent.
The stock fell from Rs 316.05 to Rs 301.60 in the last trading session.
In 2025, RailTel’s shares have fallen by about 25.52 per cent so far. In the last four years, RailTel’s shares have given more than 148 percent returns to investors.
The company’s market capitalization was Rs 9,679.50 crore till the market shutdown on Friday.
