Official data stated that the production of iron ore, which is 70 percent of the total mineral production according to the value, has increased to 263 million metric tons (MMT) during the April-February of FY 2024-25, it was 252 MMT in the same period of FY 2023-24, which shows an increase of 4.4 percent in the same period of FY 2023-24.

India is the second largest aluminum producer in the world, one of the top-10 producers of refined copper and the fourth largest iron ore in the world.
The continuous increase in production of iron ore in the current financial year shows strong demand in steel, which is the industry using these metals.
