Dhanbad, 29 April (IANS). Students of IIT-ISM Dhanbad have received record placements this year. According to the data released by the institute’s placement cell, 1,025 students have been campus selection by April.
Sourav Shakti, a student of Minerals and Metallic Engineering, has got the highest placement on the highest annual package of 1.26 crores. He has been offered this job by Amazon. His posting will be in Japan.
It has been reported that this is the biggest package offer ever to a student of the institute. There are four students who have received a package of more than 60 lakhs. Companies have offered jobs to 48 students on a package of 51 to 60 lakhs.
Similarly, 27 students have received placements on 41 to 50 lakhs, 58 students on annual package of 31 to 40 lakhs. In the range of 21 to 30 lakhs, 150 students have received placements between 386 on annual package from 11 to 20 lakhs and 291 students from 6 to 10 lakhs.
Institute Deputy Director Prof. Dheeraj Kumar said that the total number of students registered for placement is 1,622. So far, 78 percent of the students have received placements, the remaining 22 percent of the students have also received placement offers from many companies, but their profile cannot be made public before the final selection. More than 50 companies are coming for campus placements in the coming months.
According to the data released by the institute, students of BTech program have received the most job offers. 62.87 percent in B.Tech course, 92.86 percent in Dual BTech, 75 percent in Dual Degree (BTech MTech), 51.24 percent in MSc, 45 percent in MSc (three -year), 71.43 percent in MSc Integrated, 30.35 percent in MTech and 60.6 percent students have been placed in MBA courses.
The placement drive has included many legendary companies from India and abroad including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart.
