Ahmedabad, June 11 (IANS). The ethanol blending program launched by the Modi government is benefiting the farmers and directly money is going on in the rural economy. Manoj Khandelwal, CEO of Grain Spanish Nutrients, made this statement.
Khandelwal said that due to the industry-friendly policies of the Modi government, we have increased our footprints in Gujarat in the last 12 years.
He further praised the industrial policies of the Modi government and said that we are in food and energy business. We started the Energy Business when the Ethanol blending program was launched by the Modi government in 2021.
Khandelwal further stated that we felt that there were good opportunities in this business. For this reason, we started the first plant for ethanol production in 2023 and the second started in 2025.
According to Khandelwal, the capacity of both our plants is 350 kg per day. The capacity of these plants on an annual basis is 12 million liters.
He further said that the rural economy is benefiting from the Modi government’s ethanol blending program. There are farmers at the center of this program and this is leaving money in the rural economy.
Khandelwal praised the ethanol blending program and said that this is a good program. Due to this, crude oil imports are decreasing on one side and on the other hand farmers are getting direct money.
He further explained that the future of ethanol blending in India is golden. If the government allows ethanol exports, it will benefit the economy further. However, it currently has a lot of challenges, which are to be resolved.
Recently, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said that India’s ethanol blending initiative has also registered a great growth.
He said, “We have increased ethanol blending in petrol from 1.53 percent of 2013-14 to about 20 percent by April 2025, as we are now planning ahead of it.”
