Russia’s stock markets are going to partially reopen after about a month. Stock markets are closed since the Russian attack on Ukraine. Russian stock markets are going to open on Thursday with heavy restrictions. These curbs have been put in place to prevent heavy selling. On February 24, amidst the Russian attack on Ukraine, there was a tremendous sell-off in the stock market.
However, it is being said that the opening of the Moscow Exchange will have a very limited impact on investors outside Russia. Morningstar director (global ETF research) Ben Johnson said the average investment by US investors in Russia through mutual funds or retirement accounts is much lower.
