New Delhi, 4 April (IANS). Emerging aerospace startup Sarla Aviation presented its air taxi to the world during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi earlier this year. Now the company aims to start commercial operation of air taxi in some major cities of the country soon.
Sarla Aviation co-founder and CEO Adrian told IANS, “India needs a better system than the current transport system. We believe that India needs a better system that is not present. The idea of air taxi, which can become an important part of public transport in future.” Adrian also stated that behind this idea is the dream of “developed India”, in which problems like traffic jams are eliminated.
He said that the air taxi, which is considered more smart, economical and convenient than traditional vehicles such as airline or helicopter, will be used to add organized places in daily life in daily life. This system will help in creating point-to-point transport networks, which will reduce the traffic problem in cities. Sarla Aviation has so far raised $ 1.2 million capital for its company, which has been received from various venture capital firms and angel investors. However, the company is planning to raise additional investment for expansion in its market in future. Despite this, Sarla Aviation is currently in a financially strong position and is fully prepared to start air taxi operations in major cities of India in the future.
Adrian also spoke about the “developed India” approach. He said that the only solution to abolish traffic jams in India may be possible as an air taxi.
The co-founder of Sarla Aviation also stated that transport systems, such as cars, trains and metro, are not as effective as compared to other countries in India. He cited the reason behind this as the high population density of India, due to which people have to live with more crowds in less space. This is why they consider air taxi to be the backbone of “developed India”.
Indian investors have an important role in Sarla Aviation’s success, and Adrians are very happy about it. He said, “Most of our investors are Indians, and we are proud that we are getting support from some of India’s most bright minds, which have created some best companies in this country.” In addition, he also appreciated the approach of the Government of India, which motivates technical companies to emerge in India.
Adrian finally said that the leadership of the Government of India is the trust of the government, which inspires such technical companies to establish here. He said, “The trust of the government encourages such companies to work in the country.”
