Asian Markets: Markets traded higher amid optimism over China’s stimulus measures. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 1.47 per cent while the Topix added 1 per cent. South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.6 per cent and the Kosdaq rose 0.68 per cent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 2.18 per cent.
GIFT Nifty: GIFT Nifty was trading around 25,990 levels, a premium of around 75 points over the previous close of Nifty futures. This was indicating a positive opening for the Indian stock market indices.
Wall Street: The US stock market closed higher on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 61.29 points, or 0.15 per cent, to 42,124.65, while the S&P 500 added 16.02 points, or 0.28 per cent, to 5,718.57. The Nasdaq Composite managed to close at 17,974.27, up 25.95 points, or 0.14 per cent.
