Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has recalled more than 47,000 vehicles of other models including Tigun, Wartus and Kushak due to a possible manufacturing defect at the rear seatbelt. According to PTI news, the company is recalling 21,513 units of Tigun and Vertus built between May 24, 2024 and 1 April 2025. In addition, 25,722 cars of Kushak, Slavia and Keelak are recalling.
There is a malfunction about seatbelt
According to the news, the industry body SIAM said in a filing on its website that for Volkswagen Tigun and Wartus during the above period, the rear seatbelt buckle latch plate may break or the rear center seatbelt assembly webing and rear right seatbelt may fail during the front. This may threaten the safety of passengers sitting on the back seats. SIAM also gave the same reason for the Skoda model.
