New Delhi, 4 February (IANS). In the current season in the country, the area under sowing of rabi crops has reached 661.03 lakh hectares. The figure was 651.42 lakh hectare till the same period in the last season.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare said on Tuesday that the area of sowing of wheat has increased from 318.33 lakh hectares to 324.38 lakh hectares in the same period last year, which is expected to increase the production of food grains this season. According to agricultural experts, the crop is expected to benefit from winter rains.
The total area of pulses has increased from 137.80 lakh hectare to 140.89 lakh hectare in the same period last year. This will help to curb the prices of pulses, which have been the main factor of growing food inflation for some time.
The area of sowing of Shri food and coarse grains has been reported to be 55.25 lakh hectares. The area of rice has increased from 40.59 lakh hectare to 42.54 lakh hectare in the same period last year.
This year is expected to help in increasing the production of essential food items and reducing inflation due to the increase in total sowing sector.
According to the Month Economic Review of the Finance Ministry, food inflation is expected to decrease in the coming months, while the development approach to the economy is “cautiously optimistic”, as the agricultural sector favorable monsoon situation, in the minimum support price There is a possibility of benefit from increase and adequate supply of input.
