How to cultivate brinjal?

In brinjal cultivation, 300 to 400 grams of seeds should be sown per acre. After sowing the seeds to a depth of 1 cm, they should be covered with soil. The brinjal crop is ready in two months.

To get higher yield in brinjal cultivation, it is very important to provide water at the right time. In summer season, watering should be done every 3-4 days and in winter season, watering should be done every 12 to 15 days. To protect the crop during foggy days, maintain moisture in the soil and water it continuously. Take special care that water does not stagnate in the brinjal crop, because the brinjal crop cannot tolerate stagnant water.

How much will it cost to cultivate brinjal?
The first harvest of one hectare brinjal crop will cost around Rs 2 lakh. Another Rs 2 lakh may be spent on maintenance throughout the year. That means in a whole year you will have to spend about Rs 4 lakh on brinjal cultivation. At the same time, up to 100 tonnes of brinjal can be produced in a year from one hectare.

What will be the profit?
If you sell brinjal at an average of Rs 10 per kg, then you will earn at least Rs 10 lakh from the brinjal crop. That means if you subtract the cost of Rs 4 lakh, you will get a profit of around Rs 6 lakh in a year from the brinjal crop.
