Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the government gives loans up to Rs 5 lakh to women. The special thing is that this loan is interest free. This means that after taking the loan, women have to pay only the amount they have taken as loan. No additional interest will be charged from them on this. With this money, any woman can start her own business and make herself self-reliant.
How to get the benefit of the scheme
To avail the benefits of the scheme, the woman will first have to join a self-help group. Self-help groups are small groups where women mainly live in rural areas and come together to save money and give loans to each other. After this, if a woman wants to start her own business, she will have to go to the office of her regional self-help group and submit the necessary documents and her business plan.
What will happen after joining self-help groups
Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, women associated with Self Help Groups are given financial and skill development training by the government so that they can become financially self-reliant. During the training, women are taught various skills and tips are also given to start their own business.

After completing the training, women can take loans for works like poultry farming, LED bulb manufacturing, agriculture, mushroom farming, strawberry farming, animal husbandry, milk production, handicraft work, goat rearing and take home ration plant and can earn money by starting their own business.
