Mumbai, May 4 (IANS). Joint Director, Ashutosh Mohle, in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said on Sunday that Wave Excellent is a platform with the help of which media and entertainment sector startups will get boost and it will be easy to get funding.
Talking to the news agency IANS, Ashutosh Mohle said that we provide support to startups of media and areas under the media and entertainment sector in Wave Excellent.
According to Mohle, around 1,000 startups were registered under Wave Excellent, out of which the panel selected 30 startups and introduced the pitch to 40 vests.
He further said that at the Waves Summit we also built a pavilion of 100 startups, where startups went to their level and held a meeting with Venture Capitalist and Angel Investors.
In response to a question asked about the startups deal, he said that there has been talk of funding of Rs 30-40 crore between startups and investors and maximum funding demand has been Rs 5 crore.
Mohle further said that media and entertainment sector startups have come from all over the country. This includes startups from Delhi and Mumbai to Odisha, Kerala and other regions.
Regarding the Waves Summit, Anuj Mannakar, CEO of Ntillus Mobile, told the news agency IANS that it is a good initiative from the government. This will also promote the gaming sector.
He said that such a summit helps to recognize the gaming industry and assures people especially parents that gaming can also be a career.
The World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (Waves) was held in Mumbai between 1 to 4 May. It included people associated with media and entertainment along with the film world of India and abroad.
