There will be no business in the Indian stock market today. Indian equity and commodity markets will remain closed on Friday, August 15, 2025 on the occasion of 78th Independence Day of the country. Because of this, equity, derivatives and securities lending and SLB (Securities Landing-Boying) on both Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will not trade in all these segments. Now there will be trading on Monday, August 18, 2025. This is a fixed holiday, that is, the stock market remains closed on August 15 every year as today is a national holiday. In such a situation, there will be no activity in any segment.
All day holiday in commodity trading
Along with the stock market, other commodity trading platforms will also be closed. Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will not work in its morning and evening sessions, ie there will be no business in bullion, base metal, energy contracts or other commodities. India’s largest agricultural-world platform, National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will also be completely closed. This means that there will be no business in agricultural products like oilseeds, pulses, grains and spices. Due to lack of trading in the equity and commodity segment on August 15, investors will focus on global signals and economic activities during this long weekend, which may be helpful in fixing its direction when the market is opened.
