New Delhi. Diwali Muhurta trading was done in the stock market today. There was tremendous growth in the stock market which was open for one hour. Sensex rose 335 points to close at 79,724.12 points, while Nifty rose 94 points to close at 24,299.55 points. Muhurta trading on the auspicious occasion of Diwali was started by ringing the bell. During Muhurat trading, shares of 26 companies out of the top 30 companies of BSE closed on the green mark i.e. with a rise, while the shares of 4 companies closed on the red mark i.e. with a fall. Overall, within an hour today investors made huge profits. BSE market cap increased from Rs 444 lakh crore to Rs 448 lakh crore. In this way investors made huge earnings of about Rs 4 lakh crore.

What is Muhurat Trading?
Although the stock market remains closed on Diwali, the market opens for one hour in the evening for puja and shagun, this is called Muhurta trading. The tradition of Muhurta trading has been going on in the Indian stock market since 1957. Muhurat trading was introduced for the first time by Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). During Muhurat trading, the market is often bullish because most of the investors buy shares during this period.

Bumper purchase of shares of these companies
The companies whose shares were bought the most during Muhurta trading today include Mahindra & Mahindra, Adani Ports, Tata Motors, Reliance Industries, NTPC, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, Titan and Bharti. Airtel remained included.
There was a decline in these shares
Out of 30 BSE companies, the shares of four companies whose shares closed with a decline today include HCL Tech, Tech, Asian Paints and ICICI Bank.
