Ahmedabad, 6 June (IANS). Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport of Ahmedabad, run by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), informed on Friday that the airport has acquired an important milestone in its journey towards ‘Customer Service Excellence’.
The SVPI Airport has received the iconic ‘Level 4’ recognized by the Airport Council International (ACI) at the Airport Customer Experience, which is an important upgrade from the level 3 recognition received by the airport in May last year.
The recognition ranks SVPI Airport globally selected airport group and third in India, showing an extraordinary commitment to increase the customer experience at all touchpoints.
On behalf of the airport, it said, “This level 4 recognition is a proof of the commitment to prioritize passengers in every decision of SVPI Airport and the continuous discovery of betterment in service distribution. The airport continues to work as a benchmark in India’s aviation sector, which continuously innovates to ensure world -class travel experience.”
This recognition evaluates several parameters including airport culture, governance, operational reforms, measurement, customer strategy and customer understanding.
In the last one year, SVPI Airport has implemented several initiatives focused on technical innovation, development of infrastructure and improving passengers engagement. These efforts have greatly increased travel experience and operational efficiency.
Major initiatives that pursue Level 4 recognition of SVPI Airport include digitization of SOP and starting the Avio app, Digi travel on T1 and T2 terminals and starting a rejection line for back-boggase drop and a rejection line for backage belts, increased baggage handling from 600 to 1,600 bags per hour.
In addition, 24 smart cleaning robots have been deployed on T1 and T2 for better hygiene and AI-based monitoring cameras have been installed for better security and project monitoring.
Adani One app was recently launched. This app helped to integrate and improve passenger experience and launched a fast-track immigration-trusted travelers program.
The airport said, “Free Wi-Fi kiosk, flight information display, IPTV and curated background music are now operational for excellent digital experience.”
In addition, two EV buses were launched for inter-terminal shuttle service, which are free for passengers. Also, the infrastructure includes airports, a new smoking room, a multi-religious prayer room and the theme artifacts showing the heritage of Gujarat. Parking capacity has also been increased.
