New Delhi, 13 June (IANS). Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran on Friday wrote a letter to all the employees of the group, calling the Ahmedabad aircraft accident the darkest day in the history of the Tata Group and also said that complete transparency will be kept about the dialogue related to this incident.
In the letter, the chairman of Tata Sons said, “This is a difficult time for us. We are in deep mourning from what happened yesterday. Losing one person is also a tragedy, but so many deaths together are beyond comprehension.”
Describing it as “the black day of the history of the Tata group”, he said, “My condolences are with the families and loved ones of those killed and injured in the accident. We are here for them.”
Chandrasekaran further said that like you, we also want to understand what is the reason for this accident, which we do not even know at the moment. In the last 24 hours, the investigation teams of their country with UK, US have reached Ahmedabad.
He further said, “Once we confirm the facts, we will also be transparent in our dialogue about this tragedy.”
Chandrasekaran urged the public to be patient on increasing speculation about the accident.
He also said that only trained investigators will be able to explain how this regular flight ended in the tragedy.
Shortly after the accident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Thursday that it started investigating the Ahmedabad plane crash.
Air India flight AI-171, going from Ahmedabad to London yesterday afternoon, crashed shortly after flying.
A DGCA spokesperson said, “There is no definite reason for the accident at this time. A detailed investigation has been started.”
The spokesperson further stated that all the concerned agencies are involved in this investigation.
