New Delhi, 2 June (IANS). Errol Musk, father of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, said on Monday that he had no doubt that Tesla will have a manufacturing plant in India.
He expressed hope that PM Modi and Musk will do something that will be beneficial for both.
Speaking to IANS in the national capital, Errol Musk said that Prime Minister Modi will have to look at India’s interests to bring Tesla into the country.
The 79 -year -old South African businessman insisted, “Alan will have to look at Tesla’s interests as a company. The two will do something together that is the most beneficial for Tesla as well as India. However, I am saying this as a private person because Tesla is a public company.”
Aroll Musk further said that “I have no doubt that Tesla will have a manufacturing plant in India.”
He told IANS, “India must have a Tesla plant. India is one of the most important places in the world.”

India has set ambitious goals to adopt EV. The country aims to achieve 30 percent in the passenger vehicle segment by 2030, 80 percent in the joint two -wheeler and the three -wheeler segment and 70 percent EV papers in the commercial vehicle segment.
In April this year, Allen Musk and PM Modi discussed various issues, including immense possibilities of cooperation in the areas of technology and innovation.
Musk posted on his social media platform X, “It was an honor to talk to PM Modi. I am waiting for India to come to India later this year.”
PM Modi discussed several topics with Tesla’s CEO.
The Prime Minister said on X, “Discussion with Alan Musk and various issues, including the topics included during our meeting at Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed immense possibilities of cooperation in the areas of technology and innovation.
Meanwhile, Union Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy said on Monday that Mercedes Benz, Skoda-Volkswagen (VW), Hyundai and Kia have shown deep interest in the manufacture of their electric vehicles (EV) in India.
Regarding the Alan Musk -operated Tesla, the Union Minister said, “We are not really expecting them (manufacturing) because they are only going to start showrooms. They are currently not interested in manufacturing in India.”
