Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Kisan Vikas Patra will get interest as much as before
Government Schemes Interest Rates: The central government has given its decision on the interest rates of small savings schemes for the first quarter of FY 2025-26. The government has not made any changes in interest rates on all small saving schemes including PPF, KVP, SSY for the April-June quarter. Let us tell you that this is the fifth consecutive quarter, when the government has not made any changes in the interest rates of small savings schemes. The Finance Ministry said in a circular that the interest rates on different small savings schemes will be unchanged from the January-25 January-March quarter in the quarter of different small savings schemes starting from April 1, 2025 and ending on June 30, 2025.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Kisan Vikas Patra will get interest as much as before
According to the circular, under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, interest of 8.2 percent will be received on the accounts opened in the name of daughters, while the 3 -year FD will get interest from 7.1 percent. The interest rates of PPF and Post Office Savings Deposit Schemes, popular savings scheme among the common people, have also been retained at 7.1 percent and 4 percent respectively for the next quarter. The interest rate on Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) will be 7.5 percent as before and this investment will be matured in 115 months.
Interest will continue on the rate of 7.7 percent on national savings certificate
The interest rate on National Savings Certificate (NSC) will remain at 7.7 percent for the April-June 2025 period. Apart from this, the monthly income scheme (MIS) will continue to get 7.4 percent interest like the current quarter. Let us tell you that the government had last changed the interest rates of some schemes for the fourth quarter of FY 2023-24. The government changes the interest rates of small savings schemes every 3 months and issues its notification.
