In the current trading week, the stock market shares of Hindustan Construction Company i.e. HCC recorded a rise of 13.3% in the morning trading on Friday. The company’s share price reached ₹ 27.84 per share. The bounce in the company’s shares came when its joint venture with Tata Projects received an order of ₹ 2,470 crore from Tata Power Company for the pump storage project. According to Livemint news, the company has stated in the regulatory filing on Thursday that Hindustan Construction Company Limited and Tata Projects Limited have been declared ₹ 2,470 crore by Tata Power Company Limited to manufacture the Bhiwpuri off-Stream Open Loop Pump Storage Project in Karjat, Maharashtra, in Karjat, Maharashtra.
Second order for joint venture this week
According to the news, HCC has developed about 26% of India’s established hydroelectric capacity. Currently, 5 hydroelectric projects are being implemented in Uttarakhand, including 1,000 MW Tehri pump storage system. This is the second order for the joint venture this week, as it has received a deal of Rs 2,191 crore on Monday for the construction of an 8.65 km long corridor including underground tunnels and stations for Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL).
Stock recovering
The stock of Hindustan Construction Company Limited faced heavy selling pressure between August 2024 and February 2025 and after losing about 51% of its value, the stock has started recovery in recent months. The company’s stock has so far climbed 15.21% in March.
