New Delhi, May 11 (IANS). Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh said on Sunday that in the last three-four days, everyone has seen the strength of Indian technology and the country is fast moving towards self-sufficiency in the region.
Talking to news agency IANS on the occasion of National Technology Day, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the day is remembered as the success of the Pokhran Atomic Bomb Test. On 11 May, the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared ‘National Technology Day’.
He added, “Science technology innovation has progressed in the country in the last decade in the work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Whatever technology you have seen in the last three-four days, most of them have been acquired after 2014.”
The Union Minister further said, “That is why I believe that the concept that was made at the time of National Technology Day 27 years ago has been proved by Prime Minister Modi in the last decade.”
The Union Minister further said that the government has decided to review the security arrangements of technology and scientific institution.
Through this, our aim is to assure scientific experts and others working in these institutions that we are in contact with them and are also taking good care of them.
The central government has decided to upgrade the security of technical and scientific installations in the northwest areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
For this, Union Minister Jitendra Singh called a high -level joint meeting with senior officials and heads of scientific and technical departments.
The focus of this meeting was especially on reviewing the security preparations for research and scientific facilities in the border and sensitive areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Ladakh and India.
