The month of August is about to begin in the next two days. From August 1, 6 such financial changes are going to happen which will affect the common man. During this time, fuel and LPG prices are expected to increase due to changes in UPI rules. Let’s see what changes are going to happen from next month.
Upcoming changes in UPI
The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) is going to determine limits for UPI apps like Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay to improve the experience of UPI users and reduce unnecessary loads on apps. Under this new change, now users will not be able to see their account balance more than 50 times. Also, users will be able to see the details of the bank account only 25 times a day from an app. Along with this, the time-limit for auto-pay has also been fixed-before 10 am, 1 pm to 5 pm and 9:30 pm. All these rules will apply to all UPI users.
LPG prices change
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) review the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders every month. Last month, the price of commercial LPG cylinder was cut by Rs 60. It is expected that this time the prices of domestic LPG will decrease. In the last few months, the prices of LPG cylinder have been seen continuously fluctuations. The government can review the prices of LPG cylinder on August 1, which can affect your pocket.
CNG and PNG prices may increase
CNG and PNG prices are unchanged from 9 April, but are expected to change from 1 August. If their prices rise, the cost of movement and cooking may increase as these gases are used in auto, cab and gas pipelines.
Air travel can be expensive
Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices are expected to change from August 1. They are used in airplanes. If ATF prices rise, the airlines can put the burden of increased cost to passengers. This will make air tickets expensive, so keep an eye on rent while booking air tickets in August and in the last moment, make a booking in advance to avoid the fare hike.
SBI will discontinue free credit card insurance
If you use State Bank of India (SBI) card and are taking advantage of free accident insurance during air travel, then there is good news for you. Since August 11, 2025, the bank is going to discontinue free air accident insurance coverage on its several co-branded credit card variants. In partnership with many banks like SBI Bank, UCO Bank, Central Bank, Karur Vaishya Bank and Allahabad Bank, on Elite and Prime Card, there was a free air accident insurance cover ranging from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore, which is now going to be closed.
