BPCL shares have made an investment of Rs 1 lakh into more than Rs 75 lakh in 13 years. The company’s shares have shown this feat on the basis of bonus shares. BPCL has gifted bonus shares to its investors four times in the last 13 years. The company has given the last bonus share just a few months ago. The company has distributed bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 in June this year.

Shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) were at Rs 56.88 on 2 September 2011. If a person had invested Rs 1 lakh in BPCL shares at that time, he would have got 1758 shares of the company. BPCL has given bonus shares to investors 4 times since September 2011. If we add the bonus shares given by the company, their total number increases to 21,096 shares. Shares of BPCL closed at Rs 357.35 on BSE on 30 August 2024. According to the share price, the current value of these shares would have been Rs 75.38 lakh. We have not included the dividend given by the company in our calculation.

That is, the company gave 1 bonus share for every share. BPCL again gifted bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 in July 2016. The company gave bonus shares in the ratio of 1:2 in July 2017. That is, the company gave 1 bonus share for every 2 shares. BPCL has recently distributed bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 in June 2024.

Shares up 107% in 1 year
BPCL shares have gained 107 percent in the last one year. The company’s shares were at Rs 172.10 on NSE on 1 September 2023. BPCL shares closed at Rs 356.80 on NSE on 30 August 2024. So far this year, the company’s shares have seen a rise of about 58 percent.
