New Delhi. The central government constantly tries to provide equal rights to all the citizens of the country. To fulfill these objectives, the government keeps on bringing many schemes from time to time. In this sequence, the Modi government has started the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme, under which lakhs of people of the country get help in getting employment. According to the data released by the government, till April 30, 2022, 58.76 lakh people of the country were given financial assistance of Rs 4,920.67 crore. This scheme was started by the government due to the corona pandemic. At this time, crores of people of the country had to lose their jobs due to the prolonged lockdown. In such a situation, with the aim of providing employment opportunities to the people, the government had started the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme to help them. It is worth noting that under this scheme, 12 percent of the company’s EFPO is given by the government to the people who get salary less than Rs 15,000.
But, to get the benefit of this scheme, it is mandatory for the company to be registered with EPFO. Along with this, it is also necessary to appoint at least more than 50 employees in the company. This will make it easier for other companies to give new jobs to the employees. Actually, under this scheme, the government deposits the share of the employee and the employer in the PF for two years. This encourages companies to create more number of jobs. The benefit of this scheme can be availed by the employee for 24 months from the date of joining. In this, 24 percent of the salary of the employee is contributed by the government. In this, employees with monthly salary less than Rs 15,000 get benefit. If the salary is more than 15 thousand, the contribution made by the government in their account is stopped.
However, a company with more than one thousand employees will not get the benefit of the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme. In addition, to take advantage of this scheme, companies are required to register with EPFO before October, 2020. Not only this, under this scheme, the employees who have registered with the Provident Fund Organization by March 31, 2022, will also be given the benefit of PF contribution by the government.
