After which now ration card holders can also buy LPG cylinder for Rs 450. Earlier this facility was only for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and BPL card holders.
Gas cylinder for Rs 450
Amidst rising inflation, Rajasthan government has given relief news. The state government has now decided to provide LPG cylinders for Rs 450 to all ration card holders. Applications for this have started. Apart from the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, ration card holders can also apply. Applications for this will be made from November 5 to November 30. You can apply today itself to get a gas cylinder for Rs 450.
What changed in the rules?
Earlier, the Rajasthan government was giving gas cylinders for Rs 450 only to the beneficiaries under the Ujjwala scheme. But now the state has made a slight change in the scheme of Rs 450 gas cylinder. Ration card holders can also apply for this. For that, first of all ration card holders will have to link their ration card with LPG ID. Only after this you can apply for gas. Let us tell you that at present more than 1,07,35000 families in Rajasthan are included in the list of National Food Security Act. Out of which about 37 lakh families are being given gas cylinders at low prices under BPL and Ujjwala scheme. Now this announcement has been made for the remaining 68 lakh families.
How to apply?
For this, it is necessary to have the beneficiary’s Aadhar card, beneficiary’s Jan Aadhar card, beneficiary’s Gas Diary (LPG ID) and beneficiary’s ration card. The government has started the seeding work from November 5, the last date of which is November 30. For this, the card can be seeded from Point of Sale (POS) by visiting any ration shop. If the mobile number is linked to Aadhaar then seeding can be done through OTP. If there is no number then fingerprint will be taken for this.
How to get subsidy?
Under the Ujjwala scheme, beneficiaries are given subsidy for gas cylinders. In this, 12 cylinders are given throughout the year. For which a subsidy of Rs 300 is given. This subsidy is sent to the bank account of the beneficiary. Its procedure is given within 2 to 3 days in most cases. If the subsidy does not come, you can get updates by calling the DBTL helpline number 18002333555 of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Apart from this, you can also talk to the gas agency or bank. You can also go to the LPG gas distributor and get information whether there is any problem in the bank account and Aadhar card.
When was the scheme started?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana on 1 May 2016. The scheme was launched for women, with the aim of providing universal access to clean cooking fuel while reducing health hazards. Under this, beneficiaries were to be given free LPG connection with a subsidy of Rs 300 on a 14.2 kg cylinder. Along with this, first refill and gas stove is also given. The Union Cabinet also approved adding 75 lakh more LPG connections from 2023-24 to 2025-26.
